Enthusiastic and energized! This was how convention delegates felt as they left the 2009 Insurance and Investments Convention, held on Friday, Nov. 13.

The new features on the program were well received. In addition to the 30 panelists from the insurance industry, three extraordinary speakers studded the event with captivating testimonials. Luca Patuelli opened the convention, Cary Mullen spoke at noon, and Pierre Lavoie capped off the day

In their own way, each speaker made the convention delegates laugh, cry and gasp with astonishment.

Above all, they motivated their audience to go beyond their limits, leave their comfort zone and constantly surpass themselves.

As Luca "Lazylegz" Patuelli put it, our only debilitating failure in life is if we never try.

The lunchtime conference banquet, a first for the convention, attracted an enthusiastic crowd of 400! They unanimously demanded an encore performance next year.

The next generation was spotlighted at the insurance industry job fair.  Close to 350 candidates visited the exhibitors and left their resumés with potential employers.

Fifteen conference seminars shed light on the key challenges in the industry and helped participants discover new techniques that would propel them to leadership status in their fields. Nearly 60 exhibitors showcased the latest innovations in financial products and services.

The Insurance Journal and the Convention team would like to thank the 1610 visitors, along with the exhibitors and sponsors, for making the event a success.
