Manulife announced Sept. 21 that it has become the first Canadian insurer that offers all group claims submissions – including disability – through online, mobile or traditional channels using the Manulife Mobile app or via its new group benefits homepage. The mobile app is available now for iPhone and Android devices.
"The Manulife Mobile app and new homepage are important steps in the digital evolution of the customer experience that make the process easier and save members time so they can focus on the things that are important to them," stated Donna Carbell, Senior Vice President, Group Benefits at Manulife in an announcement issued Sept. 21.
The mobile app uses fingerprint recognition and allows users to not only submit any type of group benefits claims, but to review recent claims and payment information. They may also check benefit balances, find local health care providers, look for the lowest cost alternative drugs, etc.
Group Retirement Solutions
The Manulife Mobile app is also available to Group Retirement Solutions plan members and enables them to check account balances and investment mix, review their transactions, view contributions made to their plan, see their rates of return and use calculators and other resources to improve their financial knowledge.
"Manulife set out to develop a digital experience that not only makes people's lives easier, but also delivers value for plan sponsors," added Carbell. "This new solution will help maintain a productive workforce and keep their employees happy."
